A supply chain without intermediaries: We source and import our raw materials directly from small farmer cooperatives. We then process the raw materials into semi-finished and finished products and sell those without further intermediaries to our customers.

Additionally to the ecological and social commitments, PRONATEC contributes to climate protection. PRONATEC has calculated the CO2 emissions caused and now compensates with myclimate carbon offset projects. Myclimate confirms that PRONATEC AG is a “carbon neutral” company.

In the Mananara region, vanilla provides a livelihood for the farmers who live in the rainforest. The organisation "Association des Producteurs Mananara" was formally founded in 2003 and serves 20 communities. The vanilla cultivated in Madagascar is called bourbon vanilla. Due to its intense and harmonious flavour, it is the most popular variety in Europe.

In the contest "Cocoa of Excellence", which was presented in the context of this year's Salon du Chocolat in Paris, Peru was able to establish itself as a fine cocoa producer. Cooperatives in Peru, which for years have been working together with PRONATEC, were awarded in 4 categories in the top 10 out of 152 analyzed samples.

Under the leadership of PRONATEC a full container with school supplies can be sent these days to a school in Villa Altagracia which opened in 2008. Various organizations from Winterthur have donated computers, desks, chairs and writing materials. More than 100 pupils benefit from these donations. PRONATEC likes to express a warm "thank-you" to the donators.
Our cocoa comes either from our own Fair Trade projects or from our close, direct collaboration with cooperatives – mainly in the Dominican Republic and Peru – where no children are exploited. Transparency in the production chain from the smallholder farmer to the customer guarantees the traceability of every stage in the process.
A product comparison conducted by climatop shows that the climate impact of our SYRAMENA® organic raw cane sugar (Max Havelaar / FLO) from Paraguay is about 40% lower than that of organic beet sugar from Switzerland or Germany.
