Vanilla - The queen of spices
The organisation "Association de Planteurs Mananara" was formally founded in 2003. Since the beginning, the organisation works with the "Slow Food Foundation." Today, more than 1000 associates from over 50 communities work in three cooperatives. The Biosphere Reserve Mananara, recognized by UNESCO, is located in the northeast of Madagascar and has become rare in tropical rain forests in low-lying coastal areas.
