La Felsina, Paraguay

PRONATEC and the Paraguayan sugar mill La Felsina have been working together as a joint venture since 1998. This has involved not only large investments in the production facilities but also the transfer of extensive technical and organic know-how.

Today, La Felsina holds all major certifications and produces high-quality raw cane sugar, sold exclusively by PRONATEC. In addition, La Felsina and the sugar cane producers’ cooperative Asociación de Cañicultores Orgánicos de la Zona Central (ASOCACE) have been Fair-Trade certified since 2004. Consequently, the smallholders receive a premium for each fair-trade delivery, which is used for charitable projects.
